Hi everyone! I just had my phone interview for the Disney College Program (at Disney World) last night so I thought I’d make a list of tips and advice I was given (or that I found online) that really helped me feel confident during my interview!
Before my interview, I found a huge list of possible questions on this girl Alyssa’s blogspot http://alyssasdreamcometrue.blogspot.com/p/interview-questionstips.html and, I have to say, it helped me a lot. So thank you, Alyssa, whoever you are! I’ll be posting most of the questions she compiled here on my blog.
The first thing you should know about the phone interview is that the interviewer will be calling from a blocked or restricted number so make sure you answer the phone! My interview was scheduled for 8:00, but my interviewer called at 7:45. So be prepared about a half hour before your scheduled time because you never know if they’ll call early! And make sure your phone is charged! I can’t think of anything worse than your phone dying during an interview.
If you’re nervous (which I sure as heck was), try your best to relax. I locked myself in my room at 7:25, put on upbeat Disney music, sat on my bed, and waited for the phone to ring. Do whatever you have to do to make yourself less nervous. For me, singing along to “When We’re Human” from Princess and the Frog calmed me down.
At 7:45, the phone rang, I shut my music, and my interview started. My interviewer began by giving me an overview of the program and breaking down the components of the interview. Her first question for me was the infamous question:
- Why do you want to work for Disney?/Why do you want to do the Disney College Program?
